I've stayed in the Methow Valley a few times. It's a spectacular drive over rt 20.

Around Darrington is where the big landslide occurred and buried a bunch of houses and people.

Hard to figure just where now everything has grown back.

Yes, the Oso landslide, is that what your thinking of? So shocking. Anyway, the Methow is a magical place. I love seeing your posts, Tod. You continue to amaze and inspire!

Yes Oso. They were just talking about it on the radio recently.

Thanks for the nice words, Sea.

Coming in here late to the conversation but still grateful for your humor- and treat-laden road map through this lovely area, Sea. I've not yet journied there but grew fond online a few years back when I discovered The Cottage Fairy channel on YouTube. I can hear and feel the pace and purpose of nature in this region through the stories others share. Thanks for your own enticing guidebook.

I’ll look for that!

Wait your friend Manami's FAVORITE APPLES are honey and Cosmic crisps (but I've never had a Sugarbee!)

(you must have another friend named Manami *wink wink)

OMG. You are so right! That was Mikhaeyla with her Kanzi apples...I should've had you fact check my work!

The area's beautiful north of the border, too. Loved the detail of this guide. Thanks for the recommendations!

I love Canada! Haven't been back in a while. I'd love to get an Airbnb in some groovy area outside of Vancouver, or maybe some other cool town I haven't discovered. Some of my favorite people are Canadians. The woman who owns the movie theater in Winthrop is Canadian–– she's funny in that dry humor way, smart, a big reader and thinker.

I have a friend with an Airbnb in Abbotsford (about 45 min to an hour east of Vancouver, condo located in the city's historic downtown, so lots of awesome cafes, restaurants, and shops, plenty of hiking options in and around the city). If you're serious about visiting the Fraser Valley, here's a link: https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/847327827460532396?check_in=2023-07-23&check_out=2023-07-28&guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=20d39417-6797-4b8a-a6a9-d3e9335cf5d2

Thank you! I didn't know anything about Abbotsford until now.

I like this photo. I love coffee too but it keeps me awake for a day at least. I’ve found a great place for decaf though, it’s superb. Only you and I need know it’s not caffeinated

Yay! My first comment! Australians have a reputation for being bold and fearless, shrugging things off (like sharks in the water) but I'm not sure where that came from. Is it true?

Interesting! You have more spiders than we do, I think.

I’ll remember the punch if ever sharks are circling!

That is an incredible life event. I've heard stories about dolphins like this, it always blows my mind. Amazing. So the dolphin had just been attacked by a shark, or an old wound? Sheesh. We've all had brushes with death, but this story is a keeper. Perhaps you and I should do a travel blog, where we just scare the shit out of everyone!

I agree. That "Jaws" gave sharks a bad rap. Poor sharks. It's people.
